Agricultural grains, including cereal grains such as wheat, maize and rice, and oilseeds such as soybeans and canola, must be stored, transported and transported using methods that maintain their quality as seeds, foodstuffs or raw materials. Grain quality is achieved by maintaining the moisture content of the grain suitable for long-term storage on the farm or commercial premises. Grain storage facilities should be designed to withstand the loads imposed by the grain, along with other environmental loads.
